The volume deals with the social and educational details of a large province of South Italy, which is Catania’s, that was attempted to analyze in a values and education perspective, from two different points of observation: the one of the school and the one the family as well, in the full of the respective and delicate functions and training activities for the new generations. In today’s complex society it is essential to try to effectively counteract the individualistic cultural models proposed with pervasiveness sometimes from school and very much by extrascolor, and through an appropriate education to the other (most recently mentioned by the Minister of Education Giannini) to face the resistance bags that are syncretic fusion of egoisms and atavistic ignorance and that determine racist attitudes and totally discriminating against those who incarnate the difference.
