The book collects the Acts of the Conference Pedagogy as a Problem of Recuperation and Integration held at the Aula Magna of the Department of Political and Social Sciences at the University of Catania on 15 and 16 February 2013. In spite of the richness and variety of interpretations, the authors sought to explore some themes of pedagogical research, focusing in particular on two specific central nodes: 1. The complexity of the pedagogical knowledge swinging between theorization and its possible applications; 2. The problematic and unpredictable nature of the training process, measured by the lives of people, that shape, within historical and social contingencies, their complex and problematic life experiences. The attempt was to focus on the pedagogical implications present within the theme of recovery and integration, no longer and not only investigated in relation to the disabled, but in relation to different and different human groups, leveraging their integration and inclusion. From the reflections presented, it emerges, ultimately, that pedagogy should guide the family, the sole, the university, and society to reappear the sense of the community to build a democratic society called to realize integration and full inclusion in formation and social of all the subjects-person to be educated and trained. This multi-lingual work and with different approaches allows, therefore, to analyze and rethink in the contemporary age the roles and functions of teachers, school leaders, families and institutions in general, with the aim of integration and social and educational inclusion.
