The book collects several essays on the subject of training, apprenticeship and work in Sicily that has been investigated through the FIR 2014 FIR Project. This is a research project promoted by the Principal Investigator – Together with the colleague of History of the Philosophy Stefania Mazzone of the Department of Political and Social Sciences (DSPS), colleagues of the Department of Civil Engineering and Architecture (DICAR) Maurizio Spina, Giacinto Taibi, Rita Valenti, Riccardo dell’Osso, Lucia Trigilia and Spanish colleagues Cristina del la Rosa Cube and Ana Isabel Martin Ferreira of the Faculty of Philosophy and Letters, University of Valladolid. The Research Unit also saw the active participation of young scholars and their respective departments: Alessio Annino, Daniela Gulisano, Corrado Muscarà, Emanuele Forzese, Sonia Grasso, Simona Cat, Emanuela Paternò and Concetta Aliano. The Research Unit team shared the overall purpose of this project, which, in the light of the results of empirical research conducted at the territorial level of individual members and, above all, in the light of foreign experiences and good practice at local level concerning the construction of institutional, organizational, contractual, content and methodological pathways designed to qualify and disseminate all the typologies of apprenticeships that engage in the secondary education system (state and regional) and higher (University , Its, Ifts) or which are however tied to a public title (including practiced for professions and research apprenticeship). In this work, divided into three sessions: 1) Training, Apprenticeship and Work between University, School and Territory; 2) A framework of actions and reflections at the institutional, organizational, pedagogical and methodological-didactic level regarding the relationship between training and work; 3) Analysis of empirical research.
